Bob Taylor, Executive Director, Cons Helping Cons
“Pastor Bob” Taylor speaks candidly about his past, crime, subsequent arrest and the life controlling issues that brought him to that point. He has a powerful testimony about how he came to know Christ in prison and how this personal relationship transformed his life. God released him from a 130-year prison sentence for the purpose of giving a message of hope and educating the community at large about restorative justice.
Pastor Bob’s background includes twenty-five years working in the human service field. He also founded, while in prison, Cup of Love Fridays, whose mission was to demonstrate Christian caring and sharing over a cup of coffee for the purpose of restoring others and providing the ministry of reconciliation. Upon his release from prison, he co-founded Cons Helping Cons: Free To Serve of Tampa, Florida, with the purpose of taking the experiences of formerly incarcerated people who have successfully reintegrated into society and empower them to help newly released men and women. This is accomplished through mentoring, transitional housing, and temporary employment, as well as opportunities to be involved in outreach events to the homeless and at-risk youth.
Bob is a credentialed minister with the Assemblies of God and a commissioned chaplain with Chaplains Outreach Ministries of Florida. He completed his ministerial training through Global University and he holds a Certificate in Juvenile Corrections.
